Gut Trainer is a poop-diary and gut-health tracker. This policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have. In plain terms: your logs stay on your phone, analytics is off unless you turn it on, and ads are served by Google.
The bowel-movement entries you record (Bristol Stool Scale type, date/time, notes) are stored locally on your device. Gut Trainer has no account system and no server of its own — this data is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it. It is removed when you delete the app.
Gut Trainer can collect anonymous usage analytics through Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used. This is disabled by default. It only runs if you turn on “Share anonymous usage data” in Settings. These events describe app usage (for example, that a log was saved) and do not include the contents of your entries.
The free version of Gut Trainer shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may process device and advertising identifiers. On first launch you are asked for your advertising preferences; where required by law (e.g. the EEA/UK, and iOS App Tracking Transparency) you can decline personalized ads, in which case you will see non-personalized ads instead. Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms. Subscribing to Premium removes ads.
If you use voice logging, your microphone audio is transcribed by your device’s built-in speech-recognition service (provided by Apple or Google), which may process the audio under their terms. Gut Trainer does not store or upload your recordings; it only uses the resulting text to pre-fill a log entry that you then review.
We do not sell your data, and we do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or contact details to use the app.
Gut Trainer is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
